Not sure this is easily doable.
I analyzed our code for GAE and ran into some additional roadblocks. Specifically, GAE is geared towards URL access to Servlets. The Servlet lifecycle is all you have to work with which means there are additional solutions needed for hosting a Lucene Index, Message Queues and Scheduling tasks. I'm not sure how the Portlet Manager could be instantiated either. Definitely requires a serious commitment to make this happen.
