Tickets under Projects

11/28/2004 7:40 PM EST

I am not sure if this is a planned behaviour or bug.. but if I have a ticket assigned to me under project module.. I can see the ticket on my home page under my items (Assigned Tickets (1) ).. however, when I click on the item it takes to to help desk open tickets.. where there is nothing (kind of misleading).. I really have to go to projects module to find the appropriate project and see tickets there...

I guess if there are a lot of projects and tickets it could be almost impossible to find the ticket..

tks

Good point. The ticket link going to the wrong place (Help Desk instead of Projects) is a bug and we'll put a fix in. Any long-term solution if you have lots of tickets?

hmm.. I would think that it is going to the right place but there is nothing listed there...imo all tickets should be visible under Help Desk..

Has this been resolved yet? I have just added some tickets under a project and don't even see them on the Dashboard view. Is there a way to link tickets that are created in HelpDesk to a project?

Adrian,

A ticket created in helpdesk cannot be linked later with a project.
However, the following features exist.

Centric 3.0.1 displays project tickets in the dashboard and also in "My Items". It appears in your dashboard if the ticket is assigned to you and has an estimated resolution date.

This feature did not exist (was also incorrect) in v3.0. If you have 3.0 please upgrade to 3.0.1 for this feature.

I was wondering about this as well. I find the metaphor a bit odd...I have tickets in helpdesk and then I have tickets in projects too. And I can't see them on the same screen, nor can I switch from one type to another. And if what another poster says is true, my tickets without a scheduled resolution date won't show up anywhere on a list of things to-do, except if I drill down to the tickets tab under each individual project. Are there any plans to change the way this works? Is this missing functionality or what's the deal?

Project Tickets assigned to you (including those without a resolution date) appear in the projects dashboard. It is not neccessary to drill down to the tickets tab under each individual project
