Error updating contacts and activating campaigns

When I try to update a contact record, I get the following error message: "This record could not be updated because someone else updated it first."

The same thing happens when I try to activate a campaign.

Configuration: Centric CRM v3.1 on Windows Xp with Tomcat 5.5 and PostgresSQL 8.0.

I would appreciate any help.

Curiously the bug was fixed after installing the system on PostgreSQL 8.1.

Not sure if this applies here, but the database must be created with the UNICODE parameter, otherwise you will probably run into some strange behavior.
