My suggestion to improve forum feature in projects (discussion) is like this:
Topic tracking - I would be very useful to have that a user is notifed about new post in a topic he is interested in (meaning that post was added or changed). Of course now all new posts in a projects he is involved in are shown on his dashboard but only some of them may be a top priority to him and tracking allows to choose what is the most important.
