THE LINEUP:

On April 30th, Akron/Family will release their fifth album, Sub Verses, on Dead Oceans Records. Influenced, in part, by monumental land art installations and harnessed by producer Randall Dunn (Sunn 0))), Earth, Black Mountain, Wolves In The Throne Room etc…). In a sense it sees the band returning to their roots, revisiting the heavy physical impact, emotional confrontation, intensity, and musicality of their collaborations w/ Michael Gira of Swans.

Hello Wheels is a four strong stomp-folk act from Austin, TX. Harmony rich and driving, their songs boast dynamic arrangements, thoughtfully woven into the stories they tell. The result has been called ‘a new sound with an old soul’. In their third year together, the group is hard at work on their first full-length release to follow their debut EP Baby John the Fox and split 7" with locals Whiskey Shivers Friends Do Things Together.

Air Review started writing songs in 2008 out of the converted garage of an unassuming suburban house outside of Dallas, Texas. Meeting once a week for nearly a year in a room without air conditioning or heating, the quintet carefully crafted a record that they later self-released in 2009. After a couple years of playing countless shows and receiving glowing reviews, the band still felt like something was missing. The group hibernated for another 12 months and re-invented themselves.

Seryn is a 6 piece band who calls Denton, Texas their home. When listening to the well layered textures of guitars, ukulele, accordion, bass, viola, banjo and various percussion, it’s hard to imagine This Is Where We Are is the band’s debut effort. The band’s strength resides in their vast musical talent and understanding of dynamics.
