Could you briefly explain the nature of the CPL License vs traditional Open Source Licenses?
Similar to most Open Source licenses, the source code for the Community Edition of Concourse Suite is freely available for download, free of charge, from the website today. A single open license governs that single, complete version of the code. The Centric Public License (CPL) is an open license that allows users unlimited use and modification of the software within their organizations.
The one significant restriction in ConcourseSuite’s license is that the code may not be redistributed beyond the boundaries of the customer organization without a reseller agreement in place. You may not redistribute the code, and you may not sub-license copies or derivatives of the code, either as software or as a service. Unlike some other “Commercial Open Source” licenses, modifications belong to the customer and it is the customer's product.
