Adding Profile Information to your Profile

This is a brief tutorial on how to add information to your member profile.

One great feature of the ConcourseConnect Social Software platform is the ability to add your own personal information to your public profile. The development team here at Concursive doesn't assume that we know what information you'd like displayed on your profile, so you have the ability to customise it and make it suite your needs and personalty - not our "template form". So let's get started!

The first thing you'll want to do is go to your profile. If you don't have an account yet, you'll need to sign up for one (you can do that here). You can find a link to your profile just below the the search bar at the very top of the sceen.

Once you're in your profile, click on the sub-navigation link (under your name) that says "Wiki". This is where the real magic begins.

  • NOTE: We have provided two methods for inputing content into your wiki - via the Visual Editor and the Markup Editor. For this exersize, we'll be using the Markup Editor.

Click on the tab that says Markup Editor. Once you see an input area, type this in;

[{form name="My Information"}]
---
[{group value="My Information"}]
---
[{label value="Hello"}]
[{entry value="World"}]
---
[{label value="World"}]
[{entry value="Hello"}]
+++

Click submit.

Now you will see a table on your wiki with the information you just entered - pretty neat (at least I think so). Now, when you go back to your profile, you'll see all the information you just entered into the wiki.

What Next?

Change the label and entry value within the markup given above. Give as much (or as little) information as you see fit. This is your place - make it your own.

There are some interesting defaults that come with new profiles, and if a user doesn't have these default values yet -- they will soon. That's part of the upgrade process and as Sarah points out the "default template" is customizable. Have fun!
