Community Edition, User Guide, Doc's, Open Source??

1/18/2008 2:16 PM EST

Our team recently checked out, built, installed and configured branch-50-community to begin business and technical assessment of Concursive as a viable CRM option for our firm. Unfortunately, we are having an extremely hard time with the business process due to the lack of relevant documentation for the community edition.

After reviewing the User Documentation for Concursvive Suite 5.0 we found that the manual doesn't coordinate well with the community version and it's features. Turning then to the Centric CRM 4.1 doc's, we found they don't provide a clear path for feature adoption/explanation either. The online docs's are both incomplete (yes, we do understand it's a work in progress) and there no real way to print them out in their entirety.

A quick browse around the community site leaves me with the impression that Concursive doesn't really want to be part of the OSS community.

If we can't successfully contrast features with our requirements because we can't document or understand their relevance and interdependencies within the scope of the product, it is impossible to make recommendations to stakeholders, let alone contribute back to the project. I can't justify going through every line of code, ddl schema, descriptor file, etc... just to come to an understanding deep enough to answer simple business questions for our key stakeholders.

Is there any relevant documentation to the community product without having to put bits and pieces together from the other docs? A roadmap? Anything?
