At Step 3 of 4 of the install, when the database connection info is tested and submitted, and the tables are created, the following error is generated: "An error occurred while trying to create the database schema, the following error was provided: Specified key was too long; max key length is 765 bytes".

It seems that most, if not all, of the tables are created, but the install fails.

Hopefully Concursive has a quick patch or new version to fix this, as we currently unable to install the application.

The development team has informed me that the issues with MySQL installations have to be reproduced and a fix will possibly come out next week with a 5.0.2 release.
