I just started trying CentricCRM. I got a demo account. In the Admin > Manage Roles, I saw the role of Sales Managers and Accoount Managers. From the description, sales managers can manage all accounts while account manager can mange own accounts only. But within the role permission details, I don't see any difference between them. So, how do you control that Account Manager role can only manage its own accounts?

Say, if I want to add another role, which can manage accounts owned by a group of users, can it be done? and how?

Thanks,
Ivy

Ivy,

From my own permission view (keep in mind I am using the latest version of Centric) there are distinct differences between the permissions of an Accounting Manager and a Sales Manager in the role permission details. For example, an accounting manager has more restrictions on the Leads and Contacts whereas the Sales Manager does not since his sales depend on leads.

Keep in mind that the permissions are also managed by the user hierarchy. I cannot see the same view of accounts, leads, etc if I am reporting to someone, but I can see everyone's view that reports to me. This can be changed if you allow certain users all rights within certain modules, e.g. one to specifically manage accounts and only that. This is something you might want to do and have the group of users you want to manage to report to you.
