Additional fields to export in contacts

7/6/2007 6:43 PM EDT

What do I need to do to export some fields that are not available in the contact or account export by default? I have lots of contacts for which I have mobile phone numbers, home numbers and misc data, and I really need them for an export to a CSV so I can import them into Outlook for my SmartPhone.

Anyone? Anyone? Buehler?

Come on! Someone has to know the answer to this!

Hey Glenn we know you are out there and researching this for you!

I believe this would be dependent on the how Outlook would read the data fields from Centric. This would affect how they would be placed within Outlook. I will get back to yo on this.

Thank you very much! I am really just looking to export a couple of more phone numbers - fax and/or mobile.

Glenn,

One thing you could do using the WebDav interface is retrieve their contacts as a vCard. I believe this includes all contact fields that you need. You should look for the program called NetDrive in order to use the WebDav interface w/ the CRM.

Obviously we would need to add more fields to the Centric CRM export feature. In addition, we need to remove the extra line at the beginning and just start with the list of fields, because this causes the importers in other programs to fail.

I do appreciate the VCard contact import. I forgot that was in there, and I have been deleting my business contacts in Outlook so I can do an export from the CSV. It would be great if there was a way to export those in bulk and then import them into Outlook with a little more automation.

I have seen some issues with VCard exports though. Sometimes the full name gets an extra space inserted into it between the first and last name, and I get a business number and a primary number (if it is marked as primary in the CRM) that show up as the same number. Also, if any of their phone numbers have a extension, that does not come through.
