Application Integration

1/20/2006 6:08 AM EST

Hello,

Firstly - thanks for the application, we are finding it huge help in our business.

Is there a way that I can interrogate the database to see what account record a user is viewing?

So that when a user is viewing a customer record, I can have our other applications 'pop' to the appropriate screens.

Also, is there a way of reversing this.

So when a user of one of our applications moves to an appropriate screen, can I open a centric at the appropriate account record ?

rgds,
- mark.

The state of what a user is doing is within the application and not the database. If a user opens a record and you want to trigger something else, then it's possible to add a business event in the application when the record is viewed. This is covered under "object events" and using the workflow.xml configuration.

If a user is in your application and you want Centric to do something, then you would need to use a 3rd party service to set the browser to the right screen. In 4.0, we use XMPP to talk to the user's browser and open to a page based on an incoming telephone call.
