Over too many years, I've researched, tried or put into production a number of web-based collaboration tools. At first the requirements were focused on documenting networks for multiple clients, which drove the need for a well designed security architecture.
More recently, I needed something similar, but with a completely different use case. The requirement for collaboration tools was still in the mix - but this time for local businesses, organization and groups. It's a much more open model, meant for the community.
In both cases, the user interface is key to user adoption. If it's ugly or hard to use, nobody will. If it's hard to manage, it's not helping my business. There's also that practical aspect of cost. Fifty thousand dollars - no thanks!
ConcourseConnect easily meets all of my key requirements, for both current use cases and more that I hadn't thought of. It's built on a mature code base with an excellent security model, with easy-to-use collaboration tools and thoughtfully designed UI.
Installation and management is straightforward. Because of the mature code base, I don't have to work around the many bugs that plague competing products - and that helps my business. It's priced right too, affordable by even small businesses and organizations.
Thanks Concursive - I can stop looking for solutions, and now just deploy them as needed!
