The activity Types values from "Log an Activity" and "Schedule an Activity" should have the possibility to be set separatly, since they can be very different.

The "Activity Type" can be customised. So you can use the one list for both "Log" and "Schedule" an Activity.
Admin > Configure Modules > Pipeline > Lookup Lists
